Frank Asaro was born in 1955 in a small town in Sicily, Italy called Mazara Del Vallo. As a boy, he worked at "Teresa Restaurant" where the owner kept him in the back kitchen making pizzas. His pizzas were so perfect and round that the customers would ask, "who do you have, Michelangelo, back there?" That is how he acquired the nickname "Michelangelo!"
In 1966, he came to the United States with the dreams of someday opening his own restaurant in New York. Now you can enjoy Frank's dream and eat at his restaurants in Bradenton and Parrish, Florida.
Michelangelo's is a family owned and operated business specializing in great pizza, Italian food and catering, serving the local communities for years. In difficult times, like in 1985 when Hurricane Gloria hit Long Island, there was no electricity for several weeks.
Frank and his family would make pizza dough by hand so that they could feed the families that had no power. If you're looking for the best, Michelangelo is the place to go!
